Discover opportunities & build your network in the creative landscape of Miami, Florida!

You’ll live in the heart of downtown Miami and visit the communities, institutions and businesses that comprise Miami’s creative landscape, meeting with some of its most significant and innovative creative leaders along the way.

Miami is teeming with opportunities for artists, designers, marketers and arts managers, and this trip will provide you with the opportunity to learn more about them and start building a professional network in the region.

Creative Industry Trends: Miami

BUSE 450 / 550 - 3 credits

This course will connect students with the domestic and international cultural landscapes of Miami by exposing them to the diverse and global creative industries situated in the city, including: festivals and live events, sports, music, media and film, design, galleries and museums. Through various interactive projects, including on-site visits, group and online discussion forums, and various guest speakers, the students will explore and experience Miami’s creative industries first-hand.

COSTS:

There are three areas of costs for you to consider:

  1. Tuition: J-term is part of Spring semester. If registering for the Rome course brings you to full-time status (12-16 credit hours), there is no additional tuition cost for Spring semester.

  2. Special Course Fee: TO BE DETERMINED. The special course fee includes housing, classroom facilities, field trips and entrance fees, and transportation associated with program activities.

  3. Airfare, meals, spending money, etc. These are your responsibility. (Airfares vary widely, depending upon a variety of factors, approximately $300.)

ACCEPTANCE AND DEPOSIT:

Once you are accepted to the program, a $750 deposit is required to hold your space. This deposit will be applied to the Special Course Fee.
